1. When I received my product, it was broken. I don’t know if this was the fault of the manufacturer, the packager, or the shipper, but obviously I had to send it back. I then bought the same product, only in a smaller size (AquaClear 70) at a different store, and it’s working fine. No problems.

2. I bought my Aquaclear 70′s 21 years ago. One of them wasn’t used until recently, and the other has been running 24/7 straight for those 21 years!

   They’re totally quiet, and very efficient. I’ve never had the slightest problem with them, I wouldn’t dream of using another type of filter, unless it was one of Hagen’s Fluval G3 or G6′s(Have you checked them out? WOW!).

   I’m impressed with the product’s “life-span”/longevity, that alone is a testimonial to how great the filters are. All expendables, supplies, and parts have always been readily available.

   When you carefully read this companies technical sheets or user manuals you can tell that Hagen is REALLY good, their engineering prowess is beyond reproach, they ARE the greatest!

   Can’t speak highly enough about how great these filters are!

3. Water was getting cloudy with the old biowheel. After 2 days running Aquaclear the tank is crystal clear. No more depending on spinning wheels for this girl.

4. I got into the aquarium scene about four years ago with a couple small 10 gallon tanks and then about 2 1/2 years ago I upgraded to a 75 gallon tank. I got a deal on a floor model tank from PetSmart that came with everything I needed including the filter. That filter was a Marineland Emperor 400. I had that filter for about one year and was never really happy with it. It did not oxygenate the water well and was very noisy even after I rigged some styrofoam up to keep it from vibrating against the glass. I cleaned the impeller and other parts religiously and made sure there was no buildup around any moving parts and despite all my efforts this filter broke in less than a year. After doing some research and talking with some friends I decided to purchase the Aqua Clear 110.

   Since I ordered it on Amazon I was without a filter for about a week and my water was kind of dirty when I finally got it. It had my water crystal clear within 8 hours and was a heck of a lot quieter than my Marineland filter. The noise factor was a concern after reading some of the other reviews because my tank is in our living room but it turned out to be much quieter than the Marineland. The other great feature to this filter is that each piece of the filter can be removed and replaced individually. With some of the other filters I looked at this was not the case which meant that when one thing broke the entire filter system had to be replaced. With this filter system everything is removable and replaceable individually so you don’t have to spend close to $100.00 just for one bad piece. This was a big selling feature for me when buying this filter system. Also, another neat feature about this filter is the adjustable water pressure. With this system you can adjust the amount of water returned to your tank. Since this is for larger tanks it moves a lot of water no matter what but since I have the smallest tank for this system’s capabilities I was able to decrease the amount of water flow so my fish weren’t fighting the filter’s deluge of water if left on full flow. This also was a nice selling feature since I do have some smaller fish in my tank. Finally, the three filtration products are easily installed and replaced and all do their jobs very very well and you can find them at most major pet stores or fish supply stores.

   In short I would recommend this filter system to anyone with a 75 – 110 gallon tank.

5. i rate the filter it self at 5***** as performance, and i rate Amazon at 5***** stars as well…. but i rate the seller which is

   at “0=ZERO STARS” or less,

   cuase my filter came refurbished, while i payed for new, besid it was full of ugly heavy scraches around the inside of the filter body due to lots of cleaning and it had white salt residue around the rim and missing the intake tube, and the top cover is not there as well, as why i didin;t return it? cuase i had an extra parts , and i was really waiting for the filter, i needed it as soon, cuase my canister filter got cracked……please amazon take this in consideration as am a 12 years customer with 2-3 orders weekly…thanks
