I use the Fluckers Thermometer/Hygrometer for my snake cages. I have bought a higher priced one with probes that you put in the cage, but the reading don’t seem to be as accurate. Plus, with the Flucker’s one, I can put one at each end of the cage, at the level my snake is living at and make sure that it’s ambiant and basking temps are at their optimum (and spend less for 2 than I did on the high priced one I bought). I have had to buy batteries for the just bought Fluckers, but that was a minimal cost. I cannot find these in my city, even though there is a PetCo, PetSmart and to local pet shops. Also, this product was MUCH cheeper purchasing it thru Amazon than thru the Fluckers site.

Others have noted that they got units which didn’t agree, making the accuracy suspect. Mine is spot-on in agreement with a higher-end electronic humidification unit that is calibrated to 70% for a cigar humidor. The unit is very small and works well in a travel humidor as well as the larger ones.

There’s a reason this Hygrometer is called Fluker’s, because it’s a “Fluke” if you can get one that actually works. With their lack luster customer service, you are better off getting the Caliber III digital hygrometer/thermometer from Western Humidor and be done with it or at bare minimum get a Hygroset II thats adjustable.

I purchased this about a year or so ago. While I loved the size of the unit, I had problems with it turning itself off intermittently. Finaly about a couple of weeks ago it went completely dead so I replaced it’s battery. It had some life for about a day and then quite working again. I am now shopping for a new unit, but I won’t be buying this one again!
