I bought 2 of these heaters for my 125g and they work great. My only gripes are that the instructions tell you they need to be close to the filter return so that the heater is circulated properly but don’t give you a distance range and they are not as black as they look on-line or on the box.
I recently upgraded my 55 gallon aquarium heater to the Fluval E Series 300w. It does an excellent job of maintaining temp and comes with a tough exterior cage (prevents disasters). I really enjoy the temp display screen, but some might find the bright light a problem at night (if you’re looking for a dark room). I’ve bought several heaters over the years, from different brands, and this is by far my favorite.
I bought this heater for my 40 gallon goldfish tank. I only have this one heater in it and 2 filters. I put this in between the two filters because when I had it in the corner next to one of the filters I got the “low flow” error code a lot. It really doesn’t matter I guess but it bugged me so I put it in the middle and now it doesn’t do that anymore. This filter really keeps the temperature pretty steady, within about +/- one degree F of where ever you set it. I like that. Of course the ambient temp will affect your tank temp a lot. If it’s 60 in your house and you set this at 85 degrees F forget it this won’t be able to reach that temp for a larger tank and you will need two. But that’s true with any heater and for what it is this is a good heater. It’s also nice that it shows the temperature on it’s display. I will likely buy another one for my other tank as the heater in there ( a cheapy Whisper brand ) varies the temperature a lot.
