This worked wonderfully for almost a year, then died. I hear it’s got a two-year warranty, but I can’t find my receipt and am not interested in having my fish shiver while I wait and pay to ship it back.

We keep our home fairly cool at 68f. According to adhesive strip thermometer stuck on outside of glass this heater is maintaining 74f (not 78)installed in an Aqueon mini-bow 5.5. We have swords, angels and tetras and they all seem quite active. Don’t know where the’re getting that 78 degrees number. Must be based on a home temp of at least 72 but nowhere is that specified.

I picked one of these up at Wal-Mart and it didn’t even last two weeks, it simply stopped working. Paid a little more for a Theo UL 50 Watt heater and it’s been working great for months now!

It electrocuted my catfish… Why? Because they don’t do quality control in China. Yes, you can feel how angry I am for killing my catfish which I’ve had for years. I wish I could give a negative star on this review. Never buy Tetra products, you have been warned.

I bought this heater (from WalMart)last week for my 5 gallon tank. When I first put it in the tank the red light came on. After maybe a minute or so the light turned off. I wondered whether or not it was heating the water…

After a couple days I moved the heater to my 10 gallon tank. The light did not come on, even after unplugging and replugging it. It’s been in this tank for about three days, and the light hasn’t come on. The temperature has actually dropped a few degrees since being in this tank. I will be returning it to the store as soon as possible.
